I have a couple large student loans I've positioned myself to pay off. Does any one know of a method by which I can use my Chase Sapphire Preferred to pay the loans off so I can earn thousands of points in the process?

I spoke to a customer service reps for one of the lenders who told me I couldn't use a credit card to directly pay the loans, but could use my credit card to send a money order via Western Union, the latter of which they accept as a payment method.

Could I even earn CSP points on a Western Union order? There has to be any easier method here...

I imagine the fees Western Union charges cost more than the benefit gained in points.

But yes, there are ways to pay off student loans and mortgages through roundabout methods.

In my experience rewards points are pretty insignificant

Which lender are you trying to pay?

I've been paying student loans (and collecting points) with credit cards for years. Not available for all lenders.
