You studied a lot and got a good grade. I don't know why you're bothered about that.
The reason I was able to pass my 9th Grade history class is that (1) I am excellent at memorization and (2) had already studied everything that course covered years beforehand. I had two sources, one was the school library which I was always checking out books and reading them in rapid order and my other source was my older brother who went through that class two years ahead of me. He barely made it through but what he did for me was provide a text book that I could and did read. Thus by the time I actually got to the class, I already knew virtually everything that was going to be covered that year.
