Stereotypes are stereotypes. There is always a history for which people build their line of thinking. To automatically believe everyone without a doubt is like that is where you become racist. Generally changing your attitude towards a person because of a stereotype is pretty racist. But it doesn't change that the stereotype exists. Come to the South and you'll find a bunch of toothless racist rednecks. It's a pretty big stereotype. And guess what..... It's not untrue. To automatically treat everyone like that would be wrong, but if you can't see where it started, you are blind.
I waited tables and delivered takeout while in college. You always had a pretty good feeling when you were going to get stiffed and you were usually right. Back when there was a smoking section it was the worst. Anyone who ordered a fancy drink with fancy colors or chocolate swirls or a long island ice tea(in a Chili's or Applebees type atmosphere) never left a good tip. It's not just races that are stereotyped. Having a black table didn't make me realize I wasn't getting tipped, it was how the people acted. And you figured that out fast.
