Any ArcMap experts here?

Having trouble executing the "Points to Line" feature under the Feature tab in the Data Management Tools tab. I actually have trouble with this often. Sometimes it decides to work and sometimes it doesn't. When I click on the Error message after it pops up on the lower right side of the screen, it says "ERROR 001143: Background server threw an exception."
Anyone can help me out with this?

I'm no expert, but it sounds like the background server threw an exception.
Check that and get back to us.

I just ran it in 10 and had no problem. I don't use that function much, well ever, so I am not much help. How many points do you have?
Also, google the phrase and see if you can find the same thing for an ESRI forum. That has helped me in the past.
ETA: I had nothing else checked, just the input file and the output file name and hit run.
