Mistake.

Seriously though, that's the best opening to any animated movie in history IMO. It's piece of art. Everything from the script, to the voice acting, to the perfect music throughout the scene. I don't think Pixar will ever be able to replicate that greatness.

If that opening scene doesn't make you shed a tear, you don't have a soul.

I lose it when I watch that montage. The shot of them in the hospital after the miscarriage and the shot of him sitting in the funeral home are two of the most brutal to watch shots in the history of film. It kills me.

Up created a better love story in 5 minutes than Twilight did in 5 movies.

I know it's on the other side of the spectrum, but the being of Toy Story is awesome. It gets a little lost in the shuffle because it was Pixar's first, but it sets the scene/tone perfectly for all 3 movies really.

Fantastic montage.

One thing though is that people always talk about how sad it is, and while it's sad on the surface (can't have kids, she gets sick and dies), IMO it's more sentimentally happy than anything else. He got to live out almost his entire life with the girl of his dreams, and even if they didn't meet certain goals (like having kids or making it to the Falls), they still had a life full of happiness and their own adventures. Like she told him in her book at the end.

Great movie.

I've posted this before, but I went to go see this in the theater the day of my mom's funeral. Had no warning.

I can laugh about it now, obviously
