Kobe reflecting on the good old days before he was a ballhogging douche.

Wiggins-kid who grew up in Canada
Kobe-kid who grew up in Italy for 7 years.

Whats this weird pattern?

an alter who's been registered for a month with ~500 posts who attacks several long time posters. find a hobby. get out more, it's the holidays.

Makes no sense. there were YEARS where nobody came close to being as clutch. like he was incapable of missing with 2 secs on the clock.

Although Kobe had some amazing clutch moments, the statistics indicate that he was not any more clutch than average.

Kobe wants to pass the torch like Jordan passed the torch to him.

He was clutch because he would dominate down the stretch and wouldn't miss.

I thought this was about Kobe enjoying the book Ender's Game. Apparently there is a real life person named Andrew Wiggins (I realize now Andrew "Ender" Wiggin in the book had no "s" at the end). I obviously don't follow basketball at any level whatsoever.

you honestly cant even say you like sports if you dont know who andrew wiggins is. holy shite.

I'm not saying he didn't do well down the stretch (just like he did well the rest of the game), but the statistics don't support the notion that his inter- and intra-individual performance increased late in games.

Kobe's crunch time stats

Here is an article from 2011 that discusses the inconsistency between the subjective perceptions of Kobe in the "clutch" and the objective statistics.

quote:

No matter how you define crunch time -- from the last five minutes of the fourth quarter or overtime to the last 24 seconds -- and no matter how you define production -- field goal percentage, offensive efficiency, David Berri's Wins Produced, the results tell the same story: Bryant is about as likely to hit the big shot as any player.

quote:

ESPN Stats & Information's Alok Pattani dug through 15 years of NBA data (see table below) -- Bryant's entire career, regular season and playoffs -- and found that Bryant has attempted 115 shots in the final 24 seconds of a game in which the Lakers were tied or trailed by two or fewer points. He connected on 36, and missed 79 times.

that's been pretty well debunked by anyone who has looked at his numbers down the stretch. the best you can say is he's not afraid to take a bad shot and miss
