Really not sure why you hate the guy so much. You should change your name to LSUButtHURT. And yeah your stats are right, so he was not an elite player, OK. But that doesn't make him a bad player. If you think that as a senior, he wouldn't be tearing it up right now, GTFO. Stats can be extremely misleading. They don't account for hustle plays, pass breakups that go to other players' steal stats, ball saves from out of bounds, etc.

Since you're the stat guru, go try and find out how many points LSU scored with him on the court vs. off of it. Also, how many of your precious opponent guard points were straight up against Hickey? Let's see those stats.

I watched plenty of LSU basketball over the years and it seemed like when Hickey wasn't in the game we could never generate any offense. He was the only true ball handler we had for like 3 years because Bass' spastic handling sure wasn't the answer when he was here. Carmouche was the only guard we found in Hickey's time here to actually provide some high quality minutes when he sat. While Stringer was a solid player, he didn't assume Hickey's role. Speaking of Stringer, maybe his 5'9" frame had something to do with opponent guard play as well. Our size really put us at a disadvantage in a lot of situations.

TL;DR- Anyone who actually watched Hickey play the majority of his career knew he was a total badass. Stats can be misleading and don't tell the whole story. I'd love to have him on this year's team with all of his experience, and as a former tiger, I'll continue to support him.

He showed up in big games, but then faded against crappy opponents a bunch. He was a decent player who go exploited a bunch along with Stringer just due to their lack in size. He by no means is a player that I look at and think losing him hurts our season.
