I doubt that T. Boone would let Gundy get away
It depends. Gundy and T Boone don't necessarily get along well.

I know people think Harbaugh is a pipe dream, but imagine the amount of time people in Tuscaloosa, Auburn and Oxford would be spending in the bathroom and a gastrointrologist's office if he did coach LSU... almost too fun to imagine. Still think there's only a 20-25% chance of that
20-25% chance? LOL. Try 1% if that.

he most realist scenario is going to be that LSU promotes Cam to head coach in an effort to keep this coaching staff together. Cam will go out and get his guy for an OC, but we keep Chief and Wilson, which will be the reason he gets the job.
Cam has been a bust as a head coach both on the college level and the pros...he's a very good coordinator though

Or maybe because they don't like coaching with him, or does that only apply to miles?
I never said that only applies to Miles.
Jimbo could be an arse, I don't know, but that certainly is a lot of turnover.

Dabo is severely underpaid. Clemson couldn't match us. He is an SEC guy.
Dabo is a Bama Gump through and through. I don't think he would take any job that might jeopardize his chances of one day coaching the Tide. He has to believe that his name will be high on the list to replace Saban when that time comes.
Mora's next job will be in the NFL. UCLA can get him there, so I don't think he takes a chance by leaving.
Florida knew they were going to be looking for a new coach for a long time. I have a hard time believing that they didn't reach out to he agents of both of these guys.

Except that he's been fired everywhere he's been.

Jimbo is may be losing Winston but he has other 5star QB's coming and it's so much easier to win at FSU. I just find it funny that before Winston got there FSU fans weren't all that worried about losing Jimbo.

LOL. Coaches do not give one shite about their alma mater when it comes to money. If Dabo had the chance to make 6 mil instead of 2.5-3, he jumps. Especially in the SEC. Coaches don't all end up at their alma mater.

True, unless he doesn't want back in the NFL. Maybe he likes the college game.

Unless Foley is stubborn and thought he found the next Meyer with a MWC guy who was good. You never know.

Why? The guy is a great coach. He's had trouble recently getting elite recruits, but that's because CFB landscape is changing.
A change of scenery might be what he needs. But I don't think he's realistic anyway.
Posted on 12/10/14 at 1:13 pm to Moustache
I think it'd be Dabo or Jimbo.

Based on what? He outcoached Les the last two years with a far inferior team in regards to talent. Les got fricking lucky last year. Play that last drive again 1000 times and Arky wins 999 times.
This isn't about les.. It's about Brett being average. He took nearly two years to win one sec game.. That's not acceptable even while rebuilding. He was below average against quality opponents while at Wisconsin. His teams rely on the running game more than miles does and he generally has little imagination within his schemes. He does a good job of building solid offensive lines but isn't the best developing skill positions. He isn't a great recruiter, isn't bad but not at the level needed to keep the skill guys in Louisiana home.

Maybe I'm a little high on that number... it's mostly a Christmas wish list. But if the money were right, I think he'd consider it... he would have absolute total control....he would not necessarily have that at Michigan and he sure as hell does not have that with San Fran. Like Isaid I'm just having fun wi this, it's a slow Thursday morning down under.

uhhhh, no he doesn't. HE has 3* Sean MAguire, and medium 4* JJ Cosentino and 3* John Franklin.

I say we should make all of these guys say no. I don't think all are realistic, but it wouldn't surprise me if we got 1 yes, which is all we need. Most of these are semi-realistic, so I left out the Harbaughs and such.
(In no particular order)
1. Jimbo fisher
* PROS------Great recruiter, proven winner, great offensive mind, can develop QBs, LSU ties.
* CONS------Discipline (Winston), Low chance he goes
* Bottom Line----Great coach, HR hire.
2. Mike Gundy
* Pros-----Great offense, has won conference championships, Has developed good QBs, great track record in comparison to most coaches, TX recruiting
* CONS-----Recruiting questions in LA, A few bad years, defensive question marks.
*Bottom Line----Great coach, questionable D
3. Jim Mora, Jr
* Pros-----NFL experience, good offense, great recruiting, built UCLA into winner.
* CONS-----Lost some games that he shouldn't, limited college experience.
*Bottom Line----Good football mind, questionable college experience
4. Dabo Swinney
* PROS-----Tremendous recruiter, good offense, young, not afraid to fire assistants, Good QB evaluation, Beat Urban Meyer, puts many star players in pros
* CONS-----Needs good assistants, trouble beating USCe
* Bottom Line-----Another "CEO" coach, but keep Chavis and we might be in business. Can recruit with the best.
5. Bret Bielema
*PROS-----Power run game like our current recruits, proven winner, Defensive mind.
*CONS-----recruiting questions, too high a buyout, doubtful he leaves, no proven SEC success
*Bottom Line-----Has some success and runs a good style for us, but hasn't recruited at a high level and has been questionable in SEC success.
IF all these guys say no, then you go to the back up considerations like Mark Hudspeth.
Hudspeth's recruiting ties and success at ULL is encouraging, but I would be nervous about him being ready for the big time.
Interesting post and somewhat realistic.
Now, we're getting down to it.
With this somewhat realistic list, will you anti-Miles people tell me which one or ones of these guys are guaranteed to come in here and go toe-to-toe against Saban better than Miles, and guaranteed overall to win more games than Miles?
Which one or ones stand a very good chance--over 50 percent--of doing the same two things?
I'll hang up and listen.
Posted on 12/10/14 at 1:16 pm to Moustache
Mora or Rich Rod. (unless Jimbo is an actual possibility)

Do you not see context? He took over a team that pretty much forfeited TWO entire recruiting classes with John L. and PEtrino not recruiting his last year there.

Huh? Dude won the fricking conference and rose bowl with 2*s. THat's the best Wisconsin can do. They aren't exactly overflowing with talent. He never lost 59-0 either. They miss him, that's for damn sure.

WHAT?! His run game has been the best in the country at Wisconsin and decent at Arky. He has TONS more imagination than LEs in the run game.

JAred Abbrederis, Melvin Gordon, Montee Ball, and John Clay all disagree with you.

He hasn't really been at a school to know that.

I'd say all of them can lose 3-4 games a year. Miles did great 05-07 (lots of luck). However, since 08, with the exception of one year, we've fricking been mediocre. I think all of these guys could at least do that.

jimbo is going to get a fat raise if Les leaves BR... whether jimbo is the new LSU head coach or not.
