What does it matter anyway?

If it's not about CIA torture, or unarmed black men being shot by police, it isn't worth my time.

Dude, that was, like, 2 1/2 years ago.

Is Gowdy there?

Jim Jordan is grilling Gregory Starr of the State Dept. as to why Benghazi was special, given a different designation than any other foreign mission.
ETA: Never got an answer as the State guy was working at the UN when the decision to go into Benghazi was made.
Now Cummings is talking. Why is that guy on every committee?

Mrs. Roby nailed the state department on the fact that there were four remaining high threat posts where there were no marine detachments and no plan in place to address that.

He's Pelosi's way of saying frick you to any investigation the republicans conduct.

I may have to backtrack on Cummings. He is talking again following up on Roby's questions about unvetted contracted security in 6 countries. Basically nothing has changed regarding unvetted security contractor since Benghazi according to Starr from the State Department. He did look especially troubled with Starr's answer. Obviously he didn't "Gowdy" the witness, but it was not bad.
Gowdy wrapping up now. Asked for a specific name from Starr as to who could answer why we were in Libya. The answer was Anne Patterson. Starr gave the name "at the risk she will never speak to [him] again."

After Gruber its refreshing to hear a specific answer to a specific question.

But yes, a specific answer on that specific question was good to hear.
My feed literally just cut off as Gowdy was getting into questions about the security requests, but hadn't gotten to anything new yet.

That would be this Anne Patterson, pictured here with Muslim Brotherhood leader Mohammed Badie in January of 2012:
Though the photo itself was taken 8 months earlier, in one of those unexplainable coincidences, it appeared in a story on the Muslim Brotherhood leadership which appeared in "The Majalla" magazine on 9-7-12 - just four days before the Benghazi deaths.
(I recall a PoliBoard poster who had the words " Anne Patterson ... remember that name!" as his sig quote for about 8 months.)

Don't need to watch. If I want to see the Benghazi hearings I'll go to YouTube and watch the first 13 hearings. If I want to watch a dog and pony show I'll watch Les Miles' presser

Good digging, although I am not sure it would be unusual to have her pictured near members of the Muslim brotherhood given her job.

I have mentioned her numerous times over the last two years on this forum (thus why my sig quote said what it did) and I didn't have to dig for the pic or the story because it was already in my files. Yes, she met Badie (while accompanied by John Kerry) through her position as Ambassador to Egypt during the MB takeover there. Her support for the new government of the MB was enthusiastic by all accounts.
She wasn't actually in Cairo for the 9/11 protests at the U.S. Embassy there, but was en route back to Washington to meet with Clinton and Kennedy. The timing of that has always been suspect, since she had known for two weeks that there would be a major demonstration at the Embassy that day by the Salafists in support of the release of the Blind Sheikh. Knowing there would be trouble at her Embassy that very day, she hotfooted it out of the country the night before, and thus was able to disassociate herself from the controversial tweets made by the Embassy staff that day - tweets that are widely believed to have fueled the fire of the crowds that day.
I said long ago that her name would come up in Benghazi hearings.

Thanks for the post NHTIGER. It starts out slow but really picks up steam and was a very informative hearing IMO.
