Here is a nice breakdown of his game last week. By far his best as a pro.

having met him a few times, and spent some time with him, i can say he is an incredibly nice guy, and I couldn't be happier he is finding success in the NFL.

I'm really happy that KeKe is doing well in the NFL.

On a separate note, I really like articles like this when the breakdown plays at this level of detail.

Yeah Mingo is starting to put it all together. I think his statline last game was like 2 Tackles, 1 assist, 1 sack, 1 TFL, 1 PD, 5 QB hits. Dude was all over the field.

The best part of that article is the last paragraph wher the writer talks abot how judging a player based on sacks dont get the entire pictue. Its 100% true. I wish some LSU fans would realize this.

Mingo always gets knocked for just having 4.5sacks his last year at LSU. And no its not a great total. But you gotta look at everything else he did. He had 28 total pressures his last year here (hurries + knockdowns), which was 2nd in the SEC behind Jarvis Jones and had 13 QB hurries which was the 2nd most in that entire draft class behind Jarvis Jones. So no he might not of had a lot of sacks, but he was extremely disruptive and made a lot of plays that dont show up on the stat sheet.

And Mingo had 13 passes defender at LSU playing a DE in a 4-3 system. Thats incredible. Not surprised that hes doing great as a coverage LB. Hes a freak athlete and athletic as some safetys in the NFL. Go watch him doing the coverage drills during the combine. His backpedal and ability to flip his hips and change direction was better than most of the DBs at the combine. He has safety athleticism in an 6'4 240lbs body with the frame to add on more weight, which he will and already has added more muscle from last year to this year.

Plus Mingo is STILL a really really raw player. He only played 2 years of high school football, had 3 years at LSU, and 1 in the NFL. Hes only played football for 6 years with 1 of those years being in the NFL. So he only played football for 5 years before being a top 10 pick in the NFL draft.

And the Browns coaching staff has done a great job puttng Mingo in spots where he can excel. Hes not the type of player that you can just line him up wherever and let him go. But if you use him the right way, which Pettine and Oneal have, he can be a very good player and they saw that with Mingo and now its starting to show in his game on Sundays.

And IMO, the most impressive thing is just how much hes improved with his technique overall. Hes added more moves when he pass rushes and is playing against the run a lot better due to his improved technique. Hes done a lot better winning the leverage battle vs OL and its showing vs the run.

Hes always been 1 of my favorite player we have had and wasnt too worried about him in the NFL. Hes too big of a freak athlete and a hard worker with a great head on his shoulders to not improve and get the most out of his ability. It just takes some time because hes so raw. But we are seeing the beginning of what type of player he can be in the NFL.

Oh I should also note that PFF has him ranked as the #10 OLB in the NFL for this season.

Not bad considering he's basically using one arm. He'll have offseason surgery on his shoulder. It's starting to feel a little better lately.
