I think Samsung makes a good clothes washer.

Don't get a front loader. Whatever you do.

Just steer clear of a fridge with too many smart features. Less of a pain maintenance-wise

Do NOT get a high efficiency washing machine front or top loading. You can't soak your clothes and they always smell. Who cares if you save water in New Orleans

get Kenmore middle grade or higher. I've got a Kenmore fridge and a Kenmore washing machine. Both are about 18 years old. Never had a major problem or repair on either. Had a Kenmore dishwasher that last about ten years. Other appliances are GE. Had to do some repairs. As said, the more you spend, the better they will be. You get what you pay for. That's what I've learned.

I've got an LG french door fridge and like it. Other than being able to fit a large pizza I'm not sure what advantage it is over a side by side.
That's mildew. I leave the door open all the time to let it dry out.

GE sucks major arse.
Whirlpool is good.
Kitchenaid is solid.
I personally went with Viking for the range and Bosch for the fridge, dishwasher, microwave. Love them all.

If you but GE profile, take them straight to scrap yard.

I'm about to replace several appliances. I think I've settled on the Kenmore Elite line.
One thig I find amazing is the cost of gas cooktop as compared to the oven cooktop combo. No logical reason a cooktop should cost as much as a stand alone oven/stove combo.

Just got a samsung french door fridge with the extra cooling droor. Opted not to get the touch screen. No use for it and if i need it, I'll tape my phone to the door . The space and organization in refrigerators really has gotten a lot better. Next is the viking range and upgraded washer and dryer.
