Well, just because they're intelligent and genetically diverse doesn't mean all that much. It's basically a requirement. Plan B, even if you're able to birth some humans, is still a long shot on what the hell the first two generations would do to each other. It's still very likely to devolve into a Lord of the Flies scenario.
