Why does that surprise you

REALLY???!!!
Must've been a large turnout north of Florida Blvd.
Also, some of these parishes are union strongholds.

Jeez, how times have changed since Katrina.
St. Bernard and Plaquemines were the only two parishes that David Duke carried in the governor's race of '91.

Several of those are in the delta.

Looks about like it usually is.
The population centers river parishes, and parts of Acadiana usually go Democrat.
Plus Tensas obviously.

Caddo

Cassidy didn't need a single vote from any of the parishes she won. He would have beaten her anyway

Should surprise absolutely no one.

She was actually down over 20k in New Orleans compared to her margin in 2008, 32K fewer total votes in Orleans. Add that to Jefferson Parish and she's dropped 40K votes from her margin 2008 election in just those two parishes.

In 2008, when Landrieu beat Republican John Kennedy -- 52 percent to 48 percent -- she won Jefferson Parish by 12,001 votes, compared to losing by 6,648 in 2014

ETA:
Madison parish is about 62% black. Landrieu got 60% of the vote. No surprise
Tensas parish is about 55% black. Landrieu got about 55% of the vote. No surprise
Bieville parish is 56% white but a very poor parish. Landrieu got 51% of the vote. Somewhat of a surprise
Caddo parish is about split, 49% white, 48% black, about 2.5% hispanic. Landrieu got about 54% of the vote. Not too surprising.

Pointe Coupee iisn't surprising. Very pro union and very pro Edwards. They live him, well the over 60 crowd does. Plus North Pointe Coupee has a high mminority rate. It will be a long time before it goes red if it ever does. They vote strictly on party alone. Don't care about the platforms. St. James doesn't surprise my either since it was one of the only parishes that Obama won. EBR ain't surprising either I thought whites were a minority in EBR?

And she's big enough to do it. Five on her left hip and Five on her right hip. The other Five on her shoulders. Not sure if she could carry them for more than 100 yards.

East Baton Rouge is hard for me to believe.

The only ones that make you scratch your head are Assumption and St. Bernard. Take a look at the rest of the parishes' demographics and you'll see why they went for Landrieu.

For the record, she just barely carried Assumption Parish.
