TAZEWELL COUNTY (WVVA) Officers in Tazewell County have arrested a man for impersonating an police officer.

Dana Pruett Jr. was arrested Thursday night after a search warrant was executed at his home. According to Tazewell County Sheriff Brian Hieatt, Pruett is charged with impersonating an officer in Tazewell County and in Bluefield, Virginia. He was able to make bond.

Hieatt says Pruett has blue lights set up in his car and he has approached officers in several jurisdictions asking if they needed assistance. Pruett has posted multiple photos on his Facebook account wearing full police uniforms. That account has seen been taken down. 

Pruett works in loss prevention specialist at a local department store. 

According to The News Virginian, Pruett was arrested at a hospital in Augusta County, VA for impersonating a deputy with the Tazewell County Sheriff's Office in January 2013. Hospital staff stated Pruett had arrived there wearing a vest and carrying a firearm. Pruett denied the accusation to law enforcement.
