247's take is that they rate players based on NFL draft value and you rarely see a kicker drafted in the first 3 rounds, and maybe 1 or 2 snappers get drafted late every year. They are projecting 5 stars to be future first-round picks, obviously not very successfully, but that's what their aim is at least.

Recruiting services, Mel Kiper and Todd McShay have the best jobs on the planet. They get paid to pretty much say the obvious, and when they're wrong they can just blame it on the system the player is playing in or on the player for not developing. It's all a joke really, kind of like releasing a pre-season top 25. I.E. USC a few years ago when they were pre-season no.1 and ended up unranked.
