$100 is a slap to the face. You would think they would give you half of $5,000-maybe they figure since you are training that they don't have to give you the full amount. Might want to talk to your boss about it.

See, I'd take a different tack. At an appropriate moment, thank your boss profusely for getting a bonus at all...saying you didn't expect one since you're still in the probationary period. Ask, very earnestly, what you need to do in the coming year to ensure you are bonus-eligible. Emphasize how much you appreciate the opportunity for feedback and the opportunity to earn next year's bonus.
