Although I haven't been officially diagnosed, I believe that I pulled my chest muscle.

I've suffered for many years with thoracic spine pain and believe that when I "popped" my back recently (I do this several times a day), I pulled a chest muscle.

Currently experiencing shortness of breath and can feel soreness inside my chest, by my pectoral area and tingling in my left hand. Assuming this isn't heart related (I thought it was at first), anything to do to treat this aside from Motrin and ice?

"rib subluxation". possibly?
can be very painful, but sometimes only mildly bothersome.

Had it happen to me once. Chiropractor adjustment, and all better.

Same thing happened to me about 3 months ago and then again last week. The first time it was so bad, I called an ambulance thinking I was having a heart attack (only 29 yo). After MRI, EKG, blood work, IV, muscle relaxers and hydrocodone and they let me leave about 8 hours later. Only time in my life I thought I was about to die and it was only a pulled muscle.

Second time around I knew what it was and took some anti-inflamatorys and ice but it was not near as bad as the first go around.

I thought the same thing

It took about 1.5-2 weeks to finally stop bothering me.

To be real certain, TD etiquette stays this must be asked of an MD or an OD (Optometrist). Because you are using the term 'doctor.'

Cannot be applied to dentist, PhD, Chiro., etc.

Learned this on the other thread.

not a doc, but suffered from similar problem/injury for years. Saw regular doc, ortho, physical therapists, etc. Was diagnosed w/ costochondritis by one doc and Tietze syndrome by another(similar symptoms)

Ultimately, I had alot of scar tissue built up and a chiro recommended by several people, did alot of deep tissue massage work, adjusting of those joints, etc and after about 8 treatments, I got back in the gym. That was after almost 10 years of popping anti inflammatories and getting second and third opinions.

best of luck!

Very hard to diagnose something like that over the internet.

Go see a doctor.

Not sure if this is a joke but you've described cardiac chest pain. If you're serious, then you need to go to the ER or a cardiologist at least.

rub some dirt on it, take a hot bath, and go to bed...if you wake up dead tomorrow morning, it was not a pulled muscle...
