Is our OL too fat?

Just watching Denver's OL, they just seem to move so much better than our guys. They just get out and move faster when pulling or getting to the 2nd level on run plays, their footwork and agility on pass blocking is good. Overall they just seem to be in better overall physical conditioning than our guys. I noticed the same when watching GB and NE's OL, too.
Grubbs, Evans, and Streif just seem so slow and unathletic out there sometimes. Grubbs and Evans can be road graders at time in the run game, but I'm thinking their heftyness may cause their footwork to lack in pass blocking, which leads them to getting beat quite often in the middle. Streif is losing a step every season it seems.
I know we miss Kromer a bit. But if we do end up keeping these dudes arohnd, someone needs to light a fire under their arse in the offseason. I'm not saying they need to be Armstead athletically, but shite, at lease sacrifice a few lbs for better mobility. They aren't getting any younger

Evans looks completely outmatched at times.

Not fat, just old. We got Issues at guard, center, and RT.

Well we invested serious money into guys we know would be 30+ in the middle of their deals
A lot of OL play at a high level into their 30s. If these guys are at the end of their rope then that is terrible. That have to redefine themselves and get in better shape instead of sitting on their fat contracts and not doing shite.

What about Lelito?

interior lineman generally age well though. I think they could stand to lose some pounds.

which is why we gave evans such an extensive contract. I mean he went from all-pro to injured to bottom of the totem pole. That just baffles me how that can occur to a guy that plays a position most all-pro/HOF play til their mid 30s on a high level.

I think Lelito is in the mix regardless. Whether we move him to guard and shed one of the big contracts there and draft a center, or let him take over at center.

kind of off the subject but do are using an extra lineman like we have in the past?
I remember that is how Strief was kind of brought into the fold before he became a starter.
Bryce Harris has played but that has been because Strief has been dinged at times.
the Saints used the extra lineman a lot especially when they wanted to go deep in the past.
I guess maybe they still are... I must have not noticed?

I think we screwed up by not taking a center in the draft this past year.
I think we need to try to pick up a guy like Nick Martin, Reese Dismukes, or Mike Matthews. In one of the middle rounds this year.
Draft priority should be:
CB
LB
C
WR
RB (will depend a lot on Ingram, but we need a shifty guy anyway)
OG

Harris is generally used as that extra lineman
I think Klemate (sp) has gotten a little run, too. The staff was high on him and has kept him around. I wouldn't be surprised to see him as a starting guard next year if the team looks to trim $$
