for National Championship. With no change in offensive philosophy and same QB situation next year, fans must now hope that NFL draft does not gut team again. This coaching staff in its present state cannot figure out how to evolve or coach up players on current roster. It now seems that chance and luck are required in order to be special. LSU is going to lose players again to the draft and a lot of people will be crying about it and making excuses for the coach, but its on him to have the foresight and ability to win with the players that are there. In order to do this, you need to hit the reset button every year to adjust and make changes that will improve your team. It sounds simple but Les likes simple.

The only spot LSU needs to sure up is decision making and improvement in the passing game. The rest is in place for a run. Again, look at the top finishers in the SEC and tell me the class of their qbs. They are mostly in their 3rd, 4th, and 5th years in their programs.

Miles has a want to "compete". To Play "quality opponents". To Play in "big games"...But he doesn't have the drive to dominate opponents ...to do what is necessary (hard work) to win championships. He just doesn't have the killer instinct anymore. He's perfectly happy with 10-3.

We won't win another sec championship until he's gone.

Could be said of any NC run in such a competitive environment, but I agree that it's especially true now. Makes some of the earlier near-misses (05, 06, 11, 12) that much more disappointing. It simply won't get any easier with a coach/program poised for an historic dynasty run right in the division. That's to say nothing of the improvements of the other programs.

I honestly think we're done being perennial contenders for titles of any kind with things as they stand. It sucks, but I'm in the process of re-calibrating my expectations to look forward to "solid" years. This was such a year considering the totality of young players in the scheme. Next year, 10-2 will be a "solid" year, with O-line losses. Every year there will be a reason why "this just isn't the year".

It is sad but so true, most Tiger fans have become so complacent with looking forward to next year and what will the excuse be after next year, "Well the offensive line is so young with all the defections.", the year after that it will be the loss of playmakers, the year after that , it will be we lost too many on defense. Unfortunatel, we live in the world of "Hey 3 or 4 losses a year isn't bad, You want to go back to the Archer, Hallman, Dinarodo years, Do you remember what it was like?" Yes sir my Tiger friends complacency has set in.

our only hope is expanding the playoffs to 8 or 16 teams. hopefully they'll be a big enough push for it in the coming years. LSU fans should be shouting for it the loudest

Blake Simms was an avg qb who waited FIVE FKING years to get his chance.

His size is same as AJ.
Arm strength is comparable.
Speed is comparable.

This is how stupid some of of you are, "Brandon Harris is/should transfer. , true fresh not getting all snaps, boo fricking hoo

With that said he's gotta get better.
There's no reason he can't have Simms like stats.
I think he's as good as that kid.

I wish they'd bring in chad Kelly and tell all three guys we don't have a starter for 2015.
Who wants it? Prove it to me

For LSU to compete right now and anytime in the future for a National Championship, then 2 things will need to occur...

1. Operate a fully functioning complete team
2. Have a little bit of luck

LSU needs to put it all together by running a balanced and efficient offense, stingy and disciplined defense while complimenting both with sound and solid special teams. If the team is going to be just a little deficient in one of these areas, then it better be exceptional in the other 2 areas! Once this occurs, then all LSU needs is a little bit of luck on their side.

Every CFB team that's won the NC in the past has had these 2 things in common... And LSU is No Different!

I'll never understand why people think our "philosophy" changed from last year to this year. The only thing that changed was a quarterback capable of running the offense.

Look at our defense numbers every year at the beginning of the year to the end. The staff knows how to develope most positions. We just can't the most important one. this offseason depends on Harris, if he stays (which he should) will he come to camp next year improved enough for les to give him the starting spot week one

LSUs QB issues have been chronic and will always hold the team back.

The offensive scheme may work with the right personnel, but LSU apparently rarely has the right personnel.

Early NFL departures have been the biggest problem. Bama's roster is littered with juniors and seniors. Hell, one of their DBs actually played there with Julio Jones.

A lot of it is luck too

Bama was dangerously close to losing 2 additional games (Arkie & LSU).
