Everyone already knows he can be a great DC, he doesn't need to build up a reputation for that. He needs to go be a head coach in a different conference, and prove he can be a head coach. Going back to being a coordinator does nothing for his resumé.

I think coaching under Spurrier would absolutely pad his resume. Learning under great coaches is attractive. The only reason he's had hisar 3 jobs is because he learned under Saban. He needs to back off yen HC gigs and learn from a master. And he needs to get a little older and less insane. Plus, there seems to,have been too many stories about him and Spurrier being BFFs the last couple of months for no reason.

Also, it buys the ol' ball coach a little good will, which even he probably needs after this shite season they just finished.

Muschamp is a HC level guy now, regardless of Fla results. He will go to another Power 5 Conf or lower tier regroup gig, before becoming an SEC DC again(been there done that at LSU, Aub , and Tex)..

He may take something like ATM or USCe DC, but if I were he, Sexton, or one of his consulting peeps, I wouldn't return back to the SEC as DC yet a 3rd time(it's semi job regression? habitual pattern), even at 1M per, unless he no longer aspires future HC gigs?

He needs to get back on the horse and work his craft(being an HC) elsewhere.

An 2nd HC gig(even if it's CUSA or MAC,etc..) >> 3rd SEC DC gig..if still aspiring an HC career path.

Our checkbook is open. I would bet we offer at 1.5M.

Unless Muschamp hates being head coach, he won't be a DC at the college level. Would be hilarious is he and Mullen swapped jobs

I think takes a big time DC job. I don't see him as a head coach next year unless it's at some shitty Sun Belt school or something like that. I don't see a big time school taking a shot at him as HC. He looked way on over his head at times at Fla.

I dont think you understand this. You give him 1.5 million to work his arse off to build a defense or take 3 million and sit home this year and rest. I think Will Muschamp sits at home for a year at least. He could sit at home for 2 years and collect another 3 million. I think he sits home for at least one year

He might even land one of those cushy analyst jobs on TV, just depends on what kind of man Muschamp is and where he is at in his life.

Smart to HC gig, rejoins Saban at Bama.

Uh, no. There's a damn good reason that Muschamp quit his job as an NFL DC under Saban to go back to a college DC job.

I could see him trying, but I would prefer watching a cardboard cutout of Bill Bilichick over watching Boom sitting there trying to pretend he's not a psychopath.

No. Been there and done that twice already. He's not going to join Lane at The Saban School for Failed HC Reformatory.

If Spurrier is going to coach another 4-5 years, and i was South Carolina, i back a truck up to Muschamps house.

Beat the other teams to him.

He immediately improves their defense.
