I guess it shouldn't surprise me, but the lack of empathy on this board is just astounding. God forbid one of you ever lose a child at the hands of a cop.

I think it's a horrible, terrible thing to lose a child for any reason. I empathize with that wholeheartedly.

I have no respect for her obvious negligence in raising her child, nor for her hypocrisy in becoming involved in his life at this juncture, after damage has irrevocably been done, thanks largely to her lack of previous oversignt.

I think a lot of empathy has been shown. Many felt officer Wilson should have never been brought up on charges. I empathize with him for what he had to endure before and after last night. Man's life has probably been changed forever - for doing his job.

If you raise your son to be criminal who try's to start fights with cops then this is a consequence of his bad judgement and HER bad parenting.

Where was she when he was committing a crime?

Lets face it the kid wasn't innocent by any means and was going to kill the officer. That is the truth and this thug got what came to him.

I think the vast majority of posters here have plenty of empathy for anyone who loses a child or any loved one. I know I do. But it doesn't extend to misdirected anger and demands for unwarranted punishment/lawlessness afterward.

If my son had robbed a convenience store and assaulted a cop and was killed in the process, I would be upset but I would not be out encouraging this shite and taing advantage of it to make a quick buck.

truth

I am a dad and I hate to see any parent mourn the loss of a child regardless how the child died, a loss is a loss and it's massive and it goes against our desire to outlive our own children. I've attended a funeral one time of a family we know from church who lost their 6 year old little girl to a very rare disease.

The most piercing cries are the cries of a father that echo through the church. I will never forget that sound as long as I live.

with that said,

I am trying to understand why the black community simply does not want to believe the actions of Brown were essentially suicidal. They don't believe he did what he did

I am sitting here, thinking, the testimony of the officers' version in the beginning were very likely the truth than some cover up...and it bared out right down the line according to the Prosecutors 30 minute summary of the facts and how it played out

The evidence will be made available.. Somehow, I doubt the black community will give one glance at it.

Mmm huh. If you were on the receiving end of that *child* "demon" (Wilson's descriptor)...I'm sure you would be thinking *empathy*, TS.

We pay the Police to take these demons off the street so that civil society can move forward. Brown's mother is like the Muslims who take no responsibility or action against the acts of their Fundamentalist Brethren; they are enablers.

Am I wrong...did not Brown's mother hire a hit gang to rough up a group who was selling M. Brown t-shirts, and moving in on *her* copyright territory. The apple don't fall far from the tree.

Civil society/America has pretty much decided to let the heathen have their own community; they can live like hyenas and slaughter each other if they so choose. But the day that they decide to blame the good folk, and bring their poison to our community - and the Law (for whatever reason, Obama/Holder nws) don't protect us...will be the day that real justice and the turnaround begins.

And we walked on the moon. What a scene!

i think the amount of empathy deserved decreases with the publicity and self-serving sought by the alleged grieving person

So that would be different than losing a child to cancer or a car wreck. Or how about in military service to the country.
She rasied (if you can call it that) a thug and the results were predictible.

If one of my daughters grows up and does the shite that this guy did and gets shot by a cop, this entire board is free to comment negatively on my parenting, because I would be a complete failure.

Clearly it is devastating to lose a child. But maybe just maybe if she raised him properly this would not have happened.
