LSU's offense is based on the running game, and that's the real personnel problem. It doesn't matter who plays QB and throws 10 passes nearly as much as who gets the 35 carries in a game. Why is the split between Magee Fournette and Williams equal, it should look more like this:
Fournette: 20
Magee: 12
Williams: 3

The lack of a passing threat inhibits our run game far worse than who's carrying the football.

You have to at least show the defense you are capable of throwing the ball...Otherwise 9 in the box will be guaranteed.

Why are people shitting on Williams. He has run the ball on first down just as well as Fournette. No he doesn't have the 40 yard run but he's certainly capable and he gets a good 4 yards everyone he runs. Let them all split equal. There is no significant drop off from one RB to the next. It's the plays that are run that boggle me. Not the usage

we should also run some sweeps more quick pitches
designed draws Qb runs

We have no creativity in the run game either

When an opposing team doesn't respect your passing game they load the box and make it very difficult to run the ball. Seems pretty simple.

If what you say here is true, then LSU has much bigger problems than personnel.

If LSU's offense is truly based on the running game, it is one of the worst run-based offenses I've ever seen. No creativity. No change-ups. Just the same dives and off-tackles every time.

If you want to see a true run-based offense, look at Auburn recently or Arkansas back in '05 and '06 with Jones and McFadden.

LSU's offense looks more like it's supposed to be a balanced offense except they can't pass.

You have to have a decent passing game to set up the run. At least enough to keep their defense honest. Set up the play action pass.

We're only going to do one of two things:

1. Pass the ball

2. Run the ball

Anybody with a tv knows we don't pass so......

It's not brain surgery.

We have a committee at RB, running the ball is hardly the real problem.

Stop pumping up Fournette as some demi god. He is mediocre at this point. I think he will be good though. Look what the freshman at OK did this week. I believe LF has only one 100+ yarder. He is just not good at finding the hole. He just tries to make one.

I still think he will be solid and he has good hands, but the hype was to much and the Heisman pose was an absolute debacle and shows that LF is not mature enough to understand how much work he needs to put in. Have you seen Gordon from Wisconsin hit the hole? or the freshman Cook from FSU?

With Hilliard out the runs should be:

Magee - 15
Williams - 10
LF - 10

Because even Jesus "football totin" Christ can't run the ball against 9 or 10 in the box. Gotta have some resemblance of a passing game to do either

Arlkie linebacker said they knew which side we were running by watching full back make the sign behind his back. Jennings started left then juked right one time for good gain. The next time they called a left run off center and he stayed left and that's when the LB filled the hole and caused the fumble. He said they telegraphed a lot of plays and they watched tape from the Whisky game. Said we ran the same plays? Took them way too light.
