The fact that the Brown family attorney just confirmed the timing makes me believe that he was also informed of the decision itself. I have the feeling that if it was a no true bill outcome, and he knew it, he would have remained silent. To me, this portends an indictment, most likely for second degree involuntary manslaughter. My feeling is that, in the end, a few members of the Grand Jury took the "let God sort it out" approach and shifted their sentiment in the last two weeks, using the rationale that they could protect their community by doing so while still giving the officer his day in court for the least culpable of all their options, and knowing what they know, a confidence that, like George Zimmerman, Officer Wilson will walk free after trial. I don't agree with that sentiment at all, but I can easily see how they could justify it in their own minds.

This concerns me as well, and it's just not fricking right. Indict if you believe in the merits of the crime, not for this reason. It's bullshite to put Wilson, or any man through a trial for that reason if you don't find merit in this phase. It's not what the court is for, or how it is meant to function.

So, in other words, out of fear of what the black community of Ferguson might do, the GJ is going to basically kick the can down the road to an actual jury trial, where they're pretty certain he'll be acquitted.

Which will only forestall the inevitable and serve to inflame tensions even further. Brilliant.

I haven't been following this much, but didn't the supposed leaks from the GJ come back to be bogus? How do we know how the GJ was leaning?

involuntary manslaughter

I think he gets indicted for the above.

The riots will be largely postponed until the verdict, which will be used by professional agitators to make headlines ahead of the 2016 election.
