If the GOP had made that proposal, few would be up in arms. There is no path to citizenship, no actual amnesty, and an increased focus on deportation of criminals.

Though enacting the proposal thru EO was not reasonable, it was a telegraphed punch. GOP idiots could have absolutely destroyed the EO, before it was even issued.
