No way. NFL coaches just recycle to other jobs any way you aren't going to get anyone better than Payton. The Saints would end up with some retread like Mike Tice or Denny Green and be 10x worse.

that's what the Washington redskins have become. If they lose out, I could definitely see it.

Leach is not on the hotseat. Washington State is a total rebuild job and the Pirate still has time.

Yeah, I bet both NY jobs will be open at the end of the year. Not sure if that has ever happened.

I don't think Rhoads at Iowa State is on the hot seat.

They've had a down year this year but he's gotten them to a bowl three of his first four years. For that program that is an accomplishment, and outside of joining the SEC (for recruiting advantage purposes) there's not a lot more they can do.

However, I think Sumlin's seat is getting toasty. If he doesn't fire Snyder and get a DC that can actually coach defense, he's in trouble.

Know an Notre Dame fan, he says BK is on the hot seat but I doubt there's truth to that?

successful ones...yeah.

I see people love to say that the NFL recycles head coaches and it is simply not true

of the coaches who are hired, the overwhelming majority of them are first timers.

off the top of my head look at 2006, 2012 and 2013 (the offseason before those seasons started)

it's like 70/30 in favor of first time hires

Indiana would be crazy to fire their coach. They have never been able to recruit depth but they have been getting better and better. Injuries just a hamper a lot of their success making it hard for them to manifest his quality of coaching his could do!

Rex Ryan is definitely on the hot seat, he is the definition of being on the hot seat, if they were to start manufacturing and producing hot seats...Rex Ryan would be their spokesperson

Can't imagine why Kelly would be on the hot seat. He seems to have rebuilt them from the dark ages of Willingham and Charlie Weis. That's no small feat. I think he might land a pro job soon.

I would be shocked if Brady Hoke is still the coach at UM next year.

Yeah I forgot about rex ryan, he will be the most highly coveted coordinator when he's fired...always has a tough defense

I could see him getting another head coaching job somewhere with an established offense or established offensive talent in the next couple of years...if he is going to get another HC job for next year, Atlanta is the obvious choice. Maybe the New York Giants

He'd be absolutely scary as the DC in Chicago, NOLA (won't happen ), GB, philly, Washington, NE (even bigger ), Houston, Indianapolis or San Diego

If and when he gets fired, he'll be introduced at a press conference elsewhere the next day...either as a DC or HC

Hoke is supposedly a dead man walking and someone very close to the program has been rumored to have already reached out to a couple of agents to gauge interest.

As to which agents, your guess is as good as mine.

If Brian Kelly would get canned, he would practically have his choice of jobs at top to mid-tier programs in power conferences. I could imagine somewhere like Maryland or Virginia scooping him up.
