Anyone ever been Helo Hog Hunting ?

Arranged a few hours with our biologist/helo pilot to use the helicopter to alleviate some hogs/coyotes after taking a survey Saturday morning.
My question is weaponry related: I'm thinking 12ga shotguns with buckshot. Looking for effective termination v making a cool video with an AR.
Have any of you guys done this to know if the shotgun will have the needed range ?

I would think a semi-automatic rifle would work much better than a shotgun.
High speeds / distance + the body armor of a hog will have pellets floating and bouncing IMO

We did it on our place a few years back when you needed a permit to shoot so I wasn't able to shoot unfortunately. The biologist used a shotgun with buckshot and killed a shitload of pigs so I would go with that.

Usually they try to heard them into an open field to where distance isn't an issue, you are no more than 10-15 yards off the ground.
South Texas is mainly scrub brush so you can basically get right on top of them wherever.

I am supposed to be doing it in December, and I am fricking jacked. Will be using a 223 AR if I don't buy a gun for myself
