Thank you all I know he will definitely be in a better place. He was basically my father growing up and the greatest man I know. Never smoked a cigarette in his life and hardly ever drank. Seriously the most generous and kindhearted man.

Make as many visits now and the next days. He should be alert and talkative. MAKE THESE DAYS COUNT.
This will slowly deminish to a dormant state before passing.

Make him comfortable. His mouth will be dry. Maybe a wet sponge on a stick to south this. Little things may make him very irritable.

I do not know your case, but we were told 2-3 days max without feeding. She lasted another week.

One thing to consider is although most people become unresponsive in hospice. I certainly felt like my grandmother could hear and understand us.

Talk to your Grandfather and let him know y'all are at peace with him moving on. It's a tough time for your family but hospice is an amazing service and I'm glad we had the experience rather than sitting in a hospital.

My Grandmother had dementia for over 10 years and passed this summer.
