I travel for work now, with the same pay as I had in the cubicle. I also get to work from home a good bit. My wife seems to be fine with it, though she pressures me into making a definitive schedule.

yeah I would office from home when I'm not traveling and I would control when I travel but it would likely be up to 50% of the time since the clients would be national
