Essentially equal pay and advancement opportunities. New job would add about 45 minutes to my commute each way, but would also give me the chance to travel internationally (currently only national).

Would you add more time to your commute for the chance to travel outside the U.S.?

Nope, not unless moving closer was a good option

Eta: also depends on current commute time

I see nothing but downsides unless you just desparately want to travel abroad.

An extra 7.5 hrs a week on the road for the same money? I'd probably pass. How many international trips, how long and where to?

Since you won't get a raise you're basically getting a slight pay decrease due to buying more gas.

Hell no thats a horrible tradeoff. Plus all the energy of learning new position, names, politics, etc.

Really a bad idea if the pay increase isn't at least 15%.

Unless traveling overseas means you get time to go exploring, there is absolutely nothing great about spending more time on a damn airplane.

Assuming current job has a 15minute commute, that makes the new job an hr minimum commute. Screw that for same pay.
