I am a firm believer that if:
1) You had the next play ready to call in the second the previous play ended
2) Eliminated the "check with me"
3) Stopped substituting players every other down.
We would be a very successful team regardless of the scheme. We most certainly have the personnel.
I think out substitution patterns and "check with me" give away an enormous "tell" on offense that Les hasn't figured out yet or is simply in denial on. I bet most prepared defenses can figure out the play we are going to run based on our latest substitutions and how their defense is lined up before the check with me.

"check with me"
This I just don't understand. We snap the ball with 3 seconds every time because we line up, then spend 17 seconds staring at the coaches to see if they want to change anything. Meanwhile, the defense is laughing because they know exactly what play is coming.
