The Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office rounded up at least people Thursday morning after a long running and ongoing undercover operation in Grand Isle.

Deputies started rounding up suspects around 1 a.m. Some were taken to the government building where the Jefferson Parish sheriff's command post was set up for questioning. Residents said it is the most intense police activity they have seen in the community in a long time.

Other suspects were brought to the Jefferson Parish Correctional Center in Gretna to be booked on unknown charges, according to sources.

The cause of the investigation is still unclear, but Sheriff Newell Normand could comment on the activity later in the day.

They should just leave the GI hookers alone. They have it bad enough as it is.

They may have also rounded up coons, tarpon, dogs, and sand crabs.

But at least people.

Congratulations for making a thread title that covers the topic. Apparently in this case it also covered the entire story.
