I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure special teams doesn't burn your redshirt. I think it's a percentage of plays thing to still be redshirted. Again I could be completely wrong on that though.

Not banging on you, but every thread on redshirts always has this response. That rule is a decade old. One play anywhere on the field, you cannot redshirt absent an NCAA waiver.

You are wrong. Playing even 1 play burns your redshirt.

HOWEVER, they'll apply for a medical RS which has less stringent requirements.

He only played in 2 games during the first half of the season, and he did not play 30% of the season...redshirt not burned.

Playing 1 play in a game burns your redshirt
