So my girlfriend and I are moving in together next month in a new city. Well, 2 of her friends want to come visit her and found some concert in the new city to attend. Well they go ahead and buy tickets to the concert, which I find out after the fact that it is February 14th. I tell the girlfriend that I will be in Louisiana for mardi gras that weekend with my family and friends and would like her to be with me. She says that she wants to come and spend time with my family and friends also.

Now, the girlfriend asks if it's acceptable for her to let her friends, whom I've never met before, stay in our home while were in Louisiana for mardi gras.

I automatically tell her that I'm sorry but no and that hotels are abundant and very reasonably priced. She says she's been knowing them for years and the works, but I still say no. I don't want to bother with the off chance of something happening in my home when I'm in another state.

Am I being unreasonable?

Catch: would your decision in this thread change if you discovered the two friends are flaming homosexual boyfriends?

That's not entirely unreasonable but considering that it is a few months away, you do have the opportunity to meet/interact with them.

also foursome lulz

You are 100% in the right. You have to set the riles now or forever deal with BS.

i guess it depends on how long and how old they are.

Im not a teenager anymore, so id be fine with trusting someone that myself or my SO would deem responsible.

I would probably let them stay. If your girl thinks that highly of them, they are probably good people.

Not asking for a BJ before answering is what is unreasonable.

Usually I'm pretty uptight about things, and I'm certainly not a spontaneous, fly by the seat of my pants kinda person..but I don't see what the big deal is?

These aren't strangers, they're close friends with your SO that she's known for years. And it's not like they're staying there for weeks while they're trying to find a new place..it's just for a weekend while yall are gone. Might not be a bad idea to have a presence there anyway so it doesn't look like yall are gone.

I mean I certainly understand where you're coming from, absolutely. I guess I just don't see what the huge deal would be with allowing it.

I agree with you, but then again I'm weird about people being in my house when I'm not there.
