texting is our version of countless emails, which the baby boomers and whatever the frick the next generation was called are still obsessed with.

texting has now infiltrated the work place and I love it. emails get so fricking old yet it seems the 40+ crowd is still emailsessed.

besides, its the older gen of management that expects us to be available after hours thus the need for constant phone activity.

This is the reason my mom, grandmother, and aunt only know my junk email address that I never use.

Which can't be easily referenced, archived or checked. Texting certainly has its place, but has not made the transition as an effective business tool for content, IMHO.

which the baby boomers

Meh - some bought in, some didn't.

Generation X - and be nice to your elders. It's not my fault that Gen X is just demonstrably better than either the Baby Boom or Millenials (Generation Cry - ).

Preaching to the choir - my job in the military consists of routing and managing emails, essentially.

That's it - EXACTLY - all you millenials are such workaholics - you're on your phone all the time getting $hit done - not FB/TWT/Pinterest/Reddit/Tinder/Casual Gaming - your lives away - no, sir, work, work, work.

I disagree

Email is still a more valuable tool in the work place. Emails are more professional, you can include attachments, signatures, archive, print hard copies for people like my boss who still only know how to fax, and other things.

and most people are in front of there computers for the majority of the day opposed to being on the phone which can look unprofessional
