Kyle Allen first start of his career @home vs ULM - 13/28 for 106yds. 1 TD, 1INT. Barely won too, 21-16.

My question is why does our coaching staff believe that Jennings will improve with additional play but apparently not Harris? Using the convenient Kyle Allen comparison, he ends up taking the starting spot from a guy that lit up South Carolina to start the season and was being compared to JFF after that start. Obviously that was premature, but the point is the kid showed signs of greatness.

Our starting QB has never shown such ability, that I'm aware of, and was finally pulled against New Mexico. Our true freshman gets his first start on the road at Auburn and looks very bad. Unlike Kyle Allen after the ULM game who gets another start and shows that he truly can play, our kid gets marched back to the bench to gather dust. Did the staff truly believe that he would be able to carry the team to victory? This was, after all, before the defense and running game were clicking on all cylinders.

No, I don't want to trade teams or coaches with A&M before anyone asks, but just don't understand the thought process of our coaching staff this issue.

This is LSU's biggest problem.. LSU plays soooo scared to make a turnover.. They need to roll with the better QB and build the offense around him. If he does turn it over.. have enough confidence in their ability to make up for it. Winston threw 2 INTs last game, but they still come back and win.. When Harris does finally get a series or 2.. he knows he has to be damn near perfect.. which he actually has played remarkable given the circumstances.. They need to give the man the rest of the season. Not 1 game, and not some split time garbage. Give him the keys going forward and see what you have.

Completely agree with just about all of that.

Maybe they think he won't improve dramatically but believe he is the best chance to win games. Harris may have the highest ceiling but that doesn't means he wins games for you this year. If he was the best choice he'd be playing. Right now he isn't. He needs to work harder and get better. If he does he'll start next year.
