edit::: you also might want to take a charter or hitch a ride w/ a guy who has one. they are balls small and buizness only. Some are wet as hell too; I fish a mako flats regularly and we can't even cross minimal sloppy chop in open water. weight your priorities/options. I'd say a 17 foot carolina skiff if fishing south la marshes. Plenty of customizable options.
