Would offering a couple geust hunts in Arkansas make up for it until cutting settles down. The dude is a nice guy, a good hunter and passes on scrub bucks.

They should be able to cut 40 acres and be gone in a week, the deer will not care much.

All you can do is be open and communicate with him. It isn't what your intent was, he may be temp miffed.....he may understand the timber industry and just shrug it off. If he has other spots to hunt he prob will not care too much
