We were about the same age so I guess I just don't understand how someone cannot know about the Pistol.

He was great in college, very forgettable in the pros... and he died when I was 7 years old...

People that don't know who Derrick Thomas was confuse me... but ... not that surprising.

Pete spoke to my middle school and my mother is friends with his widow. He fought a lot of demons but became a very humble, content, and spiritual man.

On the lsu basketball court, he was unstoppable. Once he got to the pros, his life started to unravel a bit. Thankfully, he got it back together.

I don't think I would go that far. He wasn't as dominant in the pros as he was in college (injuries played a big part), but he was still named as one of the 50 greatest players in NBA history

I wouldn't say he was forgettable, in fact, being named One of 50 Greatest Players in NBA History definitely makes you Unforgettable.

Yeah, the guy who made 4 All-NBA teams and 5 All-Star teams, lead the league in scoring in 1977, and once scored 68 against the Knicks sure was forgettable. He's in the HOF. You sure know a lot about basketball man.

You mean best college player ever. Top 50 in the pros. Name another player who was a top 10 shooter, passer, and ball handler. He was ahead of his time. One of a few players that would have been better in today's game than his own era.

He didn't win championships but he was far from "forgettable". I watched him drop 69 on the Knicks in the Dome one night. He was a scorer.

You're right... I don't think anyone would be surprised that something confuses you.

This is why no one knows anything about Pistol Pete. LSU fans suck his dick... no one else really knows much about him.

You are truly a stupid frick. He's perhaps the greatest college player (scorer) of all-time and was named to the NBA's 50. Yeah, only LSU fans know who he is
