I am thinking the kids will enjoy it more than me at first but I would anticipate Amazon hooking this thing into home automation soon

I thought the same thing about the Fire Stick. I have a smart TV with netflix and amazon prime video. What do I need a Fire Stick for? Well I ordered 2 since I could for half price, gave 1 to the MIL, and last night finally loaded TVMC on the other one. Lets just say I was up later than usual playing with it. I'm glad I ordered the Echo when I had the chance (delivery window sometime between end of May and first of July). I'm expecting that by the time I get it, there will be some great dev community add-ons out there.
