Why are they "a-holes" because they want to escape the inevitable plummeting property values and increasing crime that comes with growing low income infiltration into an area?

They are a-holes because they aren't escaping it, they are causing it.

Shamrock Gardens kid here...
Did you ever see a rusted out '67 blue Chevy Malibu parked on Flannery?
That was my old neighbor, Mr. Buck.
He showed me those woods behind Victory Academy, and we hunted them until the early 90's.

What's wrong with Detroit? They'd fit right in.

Because obviously the answer is to ruin decent neighborhoods with section 8 housing.

Kind of like when you have cancer you try to spread it to the healthy parts of your body so it kills you quicker.

Did you grow in Monticello??

no. Grew up in Riveroaks,Fountainbleau Dr. to be exact but we used to go to Monticello every Christmas to look at the whole block back there lit up.
Damn shame they ruined that.

i escaped it. Doing fine now. Kids doing fine as well. Nice neighborhood schools like i used to have growing up.
Glad i left all that behind. i left it because i could and feel not one ounce of remorse for those left to deal with it.

Was an absolute blast as a kid riding our bikes around. Traffic used to back up all the way to Greenwell Springs rd.

Let's put a section 8 housing project down the street from you and see what the hell you do.

North Sherwood having access to the back of Monticello was it's downfall. If that access had not been there i think it would have stayed nice.

Is anyone here suggesting that? No. You're just positing it because it's a ridiculous alternative to your ridiculous suggestions. This problem isn't unique to Baton Rouge. It happens all over the country. Stemming the tide of poverty and crime can't be solved by simply moving people around. It's much deeper than that, and no one here has any inkling as to how to go about it.

Yeah, because when 5 white families move out when the first black family moves in it is because of all the murder and rape.

On that same page is a video about "White Suburbs want to create a new city". It's amazing how many people bought into the race card about St. George.

I grew up on Lakemont and went to Riveroaks. Those were the days. Sure, we did a drive-by now and then, but we were more polite about it.

I think a good place to start is with the 20-25 year old women with 4 children by 4 different men.

you've got this place as the main culprit for the downfall of the entire N. Sherwood Forest corridor.
