This was 09, and I think he said he was going upstate to do 5, so he could possibly be out... Dude put on some weight locked up. Didn't even recognize him at first until he opened his mouth with that distinct sound... "Wahhhhh"
Eta: what's crazy is like a week before I ran into him in the HOD I saw him at a show at the house of blues. We both have some mutual friends that live off feret and valance

That doesn't sound right.
In AL if you get a DUI you go CRO(court referral office),also known as "color code",until your Trial.
You have to call every weekday morning and see if it's your color. You have to report for a drug test that day.
Then the Judge puts you through a year or so of Community Corrections.Reporting every week or month.Paying your fee every month.Going to Meetings.
It's a money generating system here.
Drug Charges are worse of course.
Saint.Dang.That's a little piece of time.People either get fat or turn into weight lifters.

At least as of 2008 this was ththe case in St. Tammany. After booking during med screening you either took drug test or not...if you failed or refused you were referred to drug court. Not sure what would usually happen after that but definitely were given a date to appear even though no actual charges were filed

Completely plausible, trust me, I've been through drug court and intensive probation. And have seen all walks of life for various charges in it
I've seen people in it. I think I would of took the 90 days rather than 2 years of drug court.
