Congrads!

Well, I had a really good opening weekend. I killed the buck that I had targeted. Kinda disappointing though, because he turned out to be younger than I thought. I'm very happy with him though.

At 8:00 I had poured myself a cup of coffee because it was pretty chilly on the tripod. Two yearlings came out and crossed the field when I saw him come out of the bedding area. He went back into the brush and then came out again about 50 yards away and checked a scrape. Then he turned on a dime and ran straight at the tripod, got to about 10 yards and busted me.

He ran off about 30 yards and I hit him in the front shoulder. He ran to the creek and fell in. After dragging him up a very steep bank I got a solid look at him and was very happy. Great weekend

Nice buck man.

I didn't get down to the ranch this weekend but my dad did. One of his guests (mail order) wife shot this one on our low fenced place. 11 pt but only looks about 3.5, maybe 4.5. Still a pretty good buck for outside the fence.
