I have one laying beside me right now. He's 3.5 and a duck hunting machine. Was easily trained by me (no prior experience training a duck dog).

I started doing more research. Looks like Zacattack new the actual dog I was looking for. A flat coated retriever. Anyone have experience? Same as a GR or more towards a lab. I understand they are all going to be similar since they are retrievers by nature. Who knows, I may train it to be a blood dog for deer tracking. But the number one priority is a family pet. So field trial results and champion bloodlines are not important
