"black" golden retriever

I understand it is not a color that they breed for since it against everyrhing the name stands for but I am looking for a breeder that I can get a Golden retriever fron with a black coat. Mainly because I like the darker coat and the temperment of Retrievers around kids. I do not plan to breed the dog. Just want a family pet with a good disposition that is good with kids.

Flat coated retrievers are black.

I had a golden retriever that got knocked up by a chocolate lab and all of the pups were black, with 3 of them having the long coat of the retriever. They were all taken by friends and family and grew up to beautiful dogs: one pet, one great duck dog, and one police narcotics dog.

I have a neighbor that has a couple of black-coated setters. Very nice dogs. They're much calmer than retrievers.
