You also have to consider that Vincent played on a balanced offense, whereas 2014 LSU is anything but balanced. We have the second most rushing attempts in the country after Navy, and although we've played more games than most teams, the point still stands. Fournette is running against loaded fronts, and the line didn't really hit its stride until Auburn.
Mauck threw for nearly 3000 yards and 28 TDs, so defenses really had to respect the passing game. I also think the 2014 SECW is more difficult than the 2003 SECW.
The one thing that really stood out about JV's season that we haven't seen from Fournette is the big play ability. Vincent busted huge runs against the best teams we played that season and had a great YPC all year.
