Thank you within striking distance by Fournette

According to Jeremy Hill's Bio on LSU sports.net : LINK
It goes:
JV - 1001
Dalton Hilliard - 901
Faulk - 852
Hill - 755
Currently LF has 657

Here's the top 4
Justin Vincent (1,001 yards in 2003)
Dalton Hilliard (901 yards in 1982)
Kevin Faulk (852 yards in 1995)
Jeremy Hill (755 yards in 2012)

Jeremy Hill (755 yards in 2012)

JV set the record playing in 14 games. LF is actually averaging more yards per game right now than he did.

Crazy to think what hill could've done if he would've gotten more carries earlier in 2012

Justin Vincent is my boy, but I think he'll taint Fournette's Gatorade to try to keep his record

Dalton had 16 TDs total his freshman year (11 rushing- 5 receiving). How many does Fournette have?

Doesn't this only count regular season games, and SEC Championship games? I think Faulk eclipsed 1000 in the bowl game against that scrub coach from Michigan St.
So JV would have had 2 more games over Hilliard and Faulk.

JV did that in like 7 games. The sec championship and national championship do count in his 1,001.

I am not trying to take anything away from Fournette's year so far, but we should remember that Justin Vincent was a non-factor through the first 6 games.
JV through first 6 games: 30 carries for 132 yards (*note* JV had 0 carries against Georgia)
LF though first 6 games: 66 carries for 364 yards
One back got a lot more opportunities than the other. What Vincent put together in the back half of the 2003 season is nothing short of remarkable. He went from 132 yards to 1,001 in 8 games.
Sure, LF might break that record. Does that mean his season is more impressive? I say no, even though it is pretty impressive on its own.

They changed the way records were kept starting in 02. Faulk's records would not have included bowl games. Vincent's did.

JV did not carry the ball against Georgia the first time around. LF has played in every game and carried the ball in every game. In the end, they will have carried the ball in the same number of games (13).

Dalton is my favorite unless LF can beat him out.

And Faulk rushed for 250 yards against Michigan State, bringing his total yards to 1,102 -- about 100 yards better than Vincent's year with one fewer game (12 vs. 13, but see my post about JV's first six games).

Loved Hillard that guy was so damn shifty. My cousin graduated from Patterson High school way back in the day. I saw all of Hillard's stuff in the display case at PHS it was pretty awesome. LF will wreak havoc next year fa sho.

11 game regular season. Hard to know if Hilliard appeared in or carried the ball in all 11 games, though, because LSU's website doesn't keep game stats that far back.
I'm thinking Justin Vincent is the wrong answer for both regular season and full season.
Regular season rushing record = Hilliard (901)
Full season rushing record = Faulk (1,102)
ETA:
Best 8-game stretch in LSU freshman history = Justin Vincent (869)
