Oh, spare me your hyperbole. I'm not a LeBron fan, nor a Jordan hater. And yes, I watched Jordan play. Players grow up to be successful in the era in which they compete, and the elite find ways to extract every advantage out of the game they possibly can.
If you suggest that LeBron would play the exact style he does in today's NBA, that's the height of disingenuity.
Also, for the record, I don't give a frick who "surpasses" who in these subjective exercises.

I just don't think Lebron has the mental fortitude to stand up to something like the Bad Boy Pistons, the Twin Towers in Houston or the Celtic dynasty for 48 minutes IMO. When he was with the Cavs, he flat out quit on several occasions in the playoffs against teams that weren't playing him nearly as tough as NBA defenses in the 80s would have. He has improved leaps and bounds in that department, but he essentially had to learn how to do it by watching Dwayne Wade pick up the slack for him time and against that first season together. Dude got shut down in the clutch by a 90 year old Shawn Marion in the 2011 Finals.
I will say Lebron would have flourished with the showtime Lakers, though.

These arguments are dumb. LeBron would have been an unstoppable force in any era.
If you want to mock him for leaving Cleveland to chase a title or laugh at the idea of him returning to Cleveland was nothing more than him picking the better basketball situation then go ahead, I'll be right there with you.
To think that an insanely skilled 6'8" athletic freak couldn't handle legal hand checking is just laughable.
