Tuners can and will void your warranty depending on your dealer - most people return them to stock tuning when they take them in for service - I still think it blueprints your computer and the dealer knows if a tuner is being used...

Quick run down...
Tuner WILL void your warranty. Unless it is something totally unrelated to the tune. The days of returning to stock and nobody knowing is over.
I gain 1.5 mpg (with intake and exhaust)
I also gain 60 hp and 100 tq (with intake and exhaust)
They CAN blow your motor. Most tuners are conservative with their tunes and others take them to the max to prove they have the best tune. It would be good to learn how to datalog your truck so you can see it's knock count, boost pressure, etc.
I say tune it, but if something goes wrong dont look to Ford to fix it.

I don't k of about Ford, but in my gmc, I purchased a separate ecm that I could swap out when/if it needed service.
