Semper Fi Marines.
It was the biggest non-nuclear explosion since WWII
The Marine standing guard at the gate survived and was eaten up about it for years. They determined that it all happened so fast that he wouldn't have had time to put a round in the chamber, open fire, and stop the truck so it wasn't his fault. He said the last thing he remembers seeing is a smiling face from the driver's seat as it drove by.
The fricked up thing is, the marines were only there to keep the locals from killing each other.
