Southerners being racist again...this time, towards black football players Boston folks nearly burned down their city during the busing riots. The revisionist view that the north is more tolerant and open than the south is just utter crap. These counties in New Hampshire, Vermont, and Mass that are 99% white don't have any exposure to others, and therefore can't see the real picture.

When I hear my fellow southerners make this argument (they were just as bad) I can't help but think they sound like Big 10 fans saying the SEC isn't faster than them....they seem think that it means an SEC lineman can outrun a Big 10 receiver...yes, there is extreme racism in Northern states....but it has never been institutionalized like it is in the south. The difference isn't stark but it is there. This is why so many southern blacks went north even though there was racism in. Boston and Detroit. Again it seems like y'all are suggesting that blacks don't know what is in their own bets interest as y'all claim about their electing democrats....

I travel a lot for my job, I've worked in 20 different states at one time or another. I've been in every county of GA,TN,KY,AL,VA and WV. The most racist place I've EVER been to in my life was Chicago, IL. And before you ask, NO, It's not just blacks against whites, it's whites against blacks, Hispanics against Asians, everyone against everyone.

Does racism exist in the south, of course. Institutionalized, NO.

I think the every day racism is worse in the North.

I think the occasional violent racism is worse in the South.
